Thing #6- Mashups and 3rd party sites

Mashup sounds more like leftovers. That's ok though, because leftover are good. You know, you have those days where you've got a little bit of everything and you have to make use of it so you heat it all up and have a buffet. Anyway, I totally enjoyed the BH Labs--LOTS and LOTS of useful information. My favorite utilites are the Motivator, Magazine Cover, Sunset, and Badgemaker. I could implement them in the following manner:
Motivator , badgemaker, and Magazine Cover-display and name the science instruments, display and name a historian, or display and name a student for good conduct or birthday;
Sunset-this is definitely a science keeper

Thing #5-Flickr

Ok, so it had been a while since I've even touched the computer. (Try typing with one hand while listening to fussiness in the background--I'm still learning the ropes for 6mo old twins.) It didn't take me long to finish thing 5, though--very simple. I've used flickr before but I guess I wasn't in 'teacher mode'--it never crossed my mind to look up pictures for classroom use. Besides using these photos for educational purposes, I think I might print some out so I can frame them and hang them in my house. P.S. Here's the photo I downloaded. Isn't it gorgeous??

Thing #4-Register your blog

I just finished registering w/the library2play team. I've got to admit...I almost missed the deadline. Fortunately, I decided to read for about 30 minutes (little did I know, it was going to take me longer due to so many interruptions.) ARGH! However, I'm very excited to explore all the web activities. I had heard about them but never attempted to learn about...here's my chance!!! I can't wait to make use of all of this information!!!

Thing #3-Set up your own blog

OMG!! It took me about 2hrs to figure this thing out. I followed the instructions to a T. However, the instructions direct you to go to the 'layout' tab. There was no such thing. This was the part that took me the longest--trying to figure out where to paste the html code. OK, so I'll view this problem as a challenge.

Thing #2- Pointers from lifelong learners

Just watched the online tutorial:7 & 1/2 Habits. Great video!! I would have to say that the easiest habit for me is beginning with the end in mind. I know what my goal is but the challenge is creating my own learning toolbox.

Thing #1-Learning about 23 Things

ok..I think this will be easy. But, since I don't blog, we'll see how this works for me. I'm excited about this online learning program.
